Post-Match Press Conference: AC Milan 2-1 Roma

ADRIANO GALLIANI

“120 minutes of football on Tuesday and players keep getting injured, we’re really having to push hard. But all the players who take to the pitch always give their all. Ibra has a bad back and it was unsure if he was even going to play but then he scored 2, he’s an extraordinary player. Bonera is having an extraordinary championship, probably his best since he arrived at the club. We don’t miss Mexes of Thiago Silva with him as he never makes a mistake on the pitch. They all give everything. In the key moments when the teams behind us think we’ll drop points, we never do. Ibra’s goals are always something special. He’s fantastic, extraordinary. El Shaarawy and Boateng did well which is a great consolation of the number of injuries continues to rise. The three points always come. We’re on 63 points and we have an amazing average. These 26 years with Berlusconi are the best years of our lives. I may be repeating myself but the fans have to know how much Berlusconi has done and continues to do.”

MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI

“Credit to the players who went for the win with shots from outside the area and creating chances inside the area. We conceded an unlucky goal but the team looked for the result by trying as hard as they could. Knowing Muntari as I do, he could have done better but it’s been two years that he hasn’t played. He gives us intensity and he has technique. I was disappointed with the booking but Galliani has bought a good player. The players were stupendous, real professionals, they’re doing great things and I’m lucky to have them. They’re real professionals.
Winning the league will take much more points that last season because Juve have the potential to win a lot of games. They have a good squad and desire to get back to the top. Tomorrow is a big game for them to keep up with us. It’s tough to see Thiago Silva playing on Wednesday. I’m sorry about it and I hope I’m wrong but it was important to win here today. Nesta is getting better and I’ll have a few players back who can do well against Barcelona.”

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC

“I was fine on the pitch but its been a few days that I’ve had this bad back but the adrenaline on the pitch makes up for it. Thank goodness it went well. I think this is the best season of my career. I think my league form has been more than perfect. I feel good physically and mentally and I’ve played almost all the matches. There’s still a month to go and it’s normal to be tired but I feel good. Without my team mates nothing  would be possible. I’m really sorry for Thiago Silva and let’s hope the situation is better than it looks like. All these injuries are not good. There’s only a month to go and we need everyone one the pitch. If my team mates are happy then I’m happy as well. I’m used to thinking about the others, I grew up like this and that’s just how Ibra works. It was important to win today. Wednesday will be a great game, a tough match: they’re the best team in the world and they’re the favorites but we have nothing to lose, they do.”

DANIELE BONERA

“It was important that the team continues to march forward. Compliments always make me happy, especially from Adriano Galliani. This year I’ve been able to train with continuity and I feel good. It’s a long time that I wanted to get back into shape. I had a lot of desire to get back and show what I’ve done in my first two years with the club. All the Milan sides I’ve played have been different. In the first year I won the Champions League and this current squad is close to that. Watching Thiago Silva leave the field is not a good sign ahead of Barcelona. We’ll wait and see.”

SULLEY MUNTARI

“We’re very happy with the win, it was a tough game. We did well and the team played like we had to. After conceding a goal we got back to playing like we know how and we looked for the win. Milan is a very united team and you need that to win. I had no doubt that the club was like this. We look at our own games and our own house. We have to keep our feet on the ground and stay focused on ourselves. Now we can think about the game against Barcelona, a difficult but great game that everyone wants to play in, If we want to win the Champions League, we’ll have to be at our best. I’m disappointed about the yellow card but I’ll be cheering on the team against Catania.”

DJAMEL MESBAH

We put in a good performance this evening and I’m happy with the win we have to keep on going like this. Let’s hope that tomorrow, Juve will drop points against Inter. We didn’t say anything particular at half time we just got on the pitch with the determination necessary to win. There was an episode in the first half but then we managed to take all three points. We’ll see tomorrow how Thiago Silva is. The coach will do everything to motivate the team ahead of Barcelona and we shouldb0’t be afraid of them because we’re Milan. I feel good here and I’m working well. I’ve understood how the team works and I’m at the right level. Ibra trains everyday like it’s match day and every match day he shows that he’s a real champions and let’s hope he has one of those nights against Barcelona”.

STEPHAN EL SHAARAWY

“Ibra is extraordinary, he’s a fantastic player. It was a tough game and Roma play good football. We conceded in the first half but we were good enough to believe in ourselves and we’ve got another three points. Wednesday will a difficult game but we’ll try and play it.”

  • DrRossoneriSo true! Missed penalty, VAR disallowed goal & several missed chances. It was a great display for AC Milan. https://t.co/1UDrnPw90H - posted on 18/02/2018 23:58:49
